Gunsmith Productions has put together a new show for the armchair gunsmith and shooter who wants to know what it takes to build an Accurate, Reliable, and Beautiful gun. We will visit the shops of some of the best Custom Gunsmiths in the country and watch how they build their firearms.
In the first Nine episodes The Gunsmith Television show will pair three contestants who are avid hunters and Shooters, with three professional gunsmiths in a contest to build the best rifle, as determined by its accuracy, reliability, and looks. A panel of judges along with the viewing audience will determine the winner.
The contestants along with their gunsmith instructor will decide what caliber, type action, barrel, stock, and trigger will be used to compete in the accuracy, reliability and appearance portions of the testing.
In each episode there will be two segments where the crew goes off set for us to see other aspects of the firearms business, from Firearm Manufactures like Remington, Savage, Winchester, Marlin, Colt, Smith & Wesson and others to Stock makers, Engravers, and some of the parts suppliers and Gunsmith supply business.
Subsequent shows will be similar to the reality show format like American Chopper, With custom firearms being made for special customers. New for 2008
The Producers of The Gunsmiths is proud to announce the newest series of The Gunsmiths.
Join us as we watch two young men follow in their grandfathers footsteps by training to be gunsmiths. In the series the boys learn what it takes to become top notch gunsmiths, building guns from scratch as well as customizing several firearms under their grandfathers watchful and critical eye, while between lessons the interaction between them and their grumpy grandfather can range from amusing to serious, with clashes around subjects as diverse as work ethics, music, and manners.
We hear words of wisdom like:
" Don't let me hear you say Good Enough again in this shop! The job isn't done if its only good enough, I just decided to pay you half your wages this week, that seem good enough to you?"
"Music that isn't music, thats just cussing and third grade rhyming, it shows an ignorance in the ability to express themselves" You want music then listen to a big boobed blond that can yodel thats Music."
"Dumb Ass"
"Just supper glue it and put some duct tape around it, I'm not taking you to get stitches right now."
"I always thought you should train dogs and kids the same, if they do it right you pat them on the head and tell them good job, but if they mess up bad enough to need a beaten then give it to them full out so you won't have to do it again."
"When a customer brings in a gun with 6 slugs stuck in the barrel, get the money up front, He is to stupid to not kill himself in some dumb ass way before he can pick it up."
